Dave grew up in Batavia and was an avid athlete. From a young age he was a talented leader in both hockey and baseball.

He went on to play varsity baseball and hockey for Batavia High School, winning sectional championships in both sports. Dave was the Captain of the 1995 Batavia Ice Devils Section V Championship and New York State runner-up team.

After high school, Dave played Junior A hockey for the Niagara Scenic Hockey Club. While playing for the Scenics he shared the ice with many future NHL players.

His love of youth sports led Dave to a summer job as a hockey counselor at Camp Wildwood in Bridgton, ME, where he would meet his wife, Lori. Dave then moved to Alabama, where he and Lori started their family. The family grew to include three children, Maddie, Logan and Alli Grace. He was a proud father and loved spending time with his family.

We lost Dave in a tragic car accident in 2006. As friends, family and teammates gathered to celebrate his life, we knew our mission would be to support youth athletics in Dave’s memory…with the passion and fire that Dave brought to every aspect of life!
